PRESIDENT
Megan Ratka
YEAR IN SCHOOL: Junior
MAJOR: Animal Science
HOMETOWN: Cold Spring, MN
WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO TAKE AN EXECUTIVE POSITION? Lambda Delta Phi has meant so much to me throughout my time in college. After serving on the executive team last year, I saw so much growth both personally and within the chapter which reaffirmed my desire to serve the chapter in the President role. I am excited to continue our traditions through ceremonies and work to make progress within our sisterhood.
HOW ARE YOU INVOLVED ON CAMPUS AND IN LDPhi?On campus I am a member of the Gopher Dairy Club where I am the Secretary, Food Animal Networking Evening Co-Chair, and serve on the Scholarship committee. I am also an undergraduate research assistant for a PhD student in the Veterinary Medicine department. Within LDPhi, I have served as the Representative at Large, New Member Educator, and chaired various committees.
WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS FOR THE FUTURE FOLLOWING COLLEGE? After college I intend to pursue a Master's degree in Reproductive Physiology. My dream job would be to work in a lab doing research on dairy cattle reproductive technologies. I also hope to own and exhibit a small herd of show type dairy cattle.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LDPhi MEMORY? My favorite LDPhi memory was my Initiation in the Fall of 2021. It was so meaningful to go through the traditions and ceremonies alongside some of my best friends and become a sister of Lambda Delta Phi.
