REPRESENTATIVE AT LARGE
Mary Lanoue

YEAR IN SCHOOL: Junior
MAJOR: Agricultural Education, Agricultural Communications and Marketing
HOMETOWN: Marshall, MN
WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO TAKE AN EXECUTIVE POSITION?
I decided to take on an executive position now because I knew this was my only chance at giving back to the organization that gave me so much. I find fulfillment in giving people clarity and thought the Rep at Large role would be perfect for me!
HOW ARE YOU INVOLVED ON CAMPUS AND IN LDPhi?
Outside of LDPhi I tend to stay very involved on campus. Outside of classes I am involved with the Agricultural Education, Communication, and Marketing Club (AECM Club), National President-Elect for Alpha Tau Alpha, Creative Coordinator for CFANS Undergraduate Student Board, Student Leadership for CFANS Policy Engagement Program (PEP), Advertising Club, National Agri-Marketing Association, and assist with CFANS Student Ambassadors as needed. In addition, I currently hold two student worker position within CFANS, one as a student staffer for Alumni and Constituent Relations and the other for the Communications Team.
WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS FOR THE FUTURE FOLLOWING COLLEGE?
After graduation, I plan to spend a year in Australia working on a cattle operation through the MAST program to further understand the global scale of the beef industry and agriculture as a whole. After returning from Australia I plan to join a creative agency for strategic communications or to enter the HS classroom setting as an educator, whichever I am feeling more drawn to in the moment :)
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LDPhi MEMORY?
One of my favorite college/LDPhi memories is our post-chapter meeting Culver's runs. From singing our lungs out in the car to rewarding ourselves with a little sweet treat while debriefing about our life, those evenings always seemed to be full of adventure.
